I remember a number of persons, Digna Philips being one of them. I have very fond memories of two fellow pupils, they being Gerda de Vriend and Bep Visser; thanks to those two thoughtful and kind persons, I too was given a 'Sinterklaas' present one december. Bless them! The first three years of my stay at the Lorentz were not happy ones: I was shy, and felt I was a veritable 'nobody'. However, things improved during the last 2 years, when in Classes 4A and 5A.. It was due to my Lorentz Lyceum education that I was accepted as a student at Sydney Teachers College and the University of New England. (Three cheers for all those wonderful teachers!!!)
