I remember it very well when we were tested at school for TB and it came back positive and 3 other class mates also had tested positive as was the teacher a brother who had returned from Germany from the labour camps who consequently died from the illness that was in 1946-7. I was away from school for nearly 2 years including a whole 12 months in Hoek van Holland St Jozef Preventorium 6th Oct 1947 to 6th Oct 1948. I have always wondered what happened to the other boys. Did they recover OK ?

unfortunately can't remember any of my school friends but I did go to that school with my 3year older brother Theodorus and then 2 year younger sister Catharina ( Tieneke) I have photo's taken with them at various times sitting at a school desk between 1943 and 1948 before going to St Louis op de Putselaan 180 in 1946 I have class photo's from that era also. One photo when I was in 3rd class (1950/51) with a brother as a teacher name may have been Br.Theodulphus or Nerius, which was taken inside the class room another photo of 4th class with mister Mels I think was his name was taken outside in the play ground. While at that school I contracted TB and was hospitalised for nearly two and a half years. Name of kleuterschool may have been Maria bewaarschool.
