BCom course, van der Meijden for Statistics (blue murder that was), HUGE lecture classes for English (Prof Tobias??, lunchtime concerts in the sun. Not a lot else of interest to report really, to me life was different and more business-like than at school, and to my feeling left little place for cameraderie, short-cuts and generally bucking the system that kept us engaged in the school days. By contrast my other family in SA, sister, husband and now their three kids (no longer "kids" ) all had long and distinguished academic careers at this University! In fact, they must hold some sort of record there of the most degrees achieved within one single family.

Naast mijn werk als perfusionist en pacemaker technicus in verschillende ziekenhuizen,ging ik 2 dagen in de week naar de medical school voor de opleidingen hartlongpomp technicus en cardiac pacing.
Naast mijn werk als perfusionist en pacemaker technicus in verschillende ziekenhuizen,ging ik 2 dagen in de week naar de medical school voor de opleidingen hartlongpomp technicus en cardiac pacing. In die tijd bestond apartheid nog in z'n volle omvang.De opleiding was dan ook alleen voor blanken. De praktijk opleiding begon in een ziekenhuis voor zwarten ,daarna kleurling, blank , kinder en Joods. Momenteel bestaat er geen rassen apartheid meer in Zuid-Afrika. In de gezondheidsinstellingen zijn er veel staatsziekenhuizen en prive klinieken.
